Crypto custody fees at Hex Trust: how custody, OTC and staking pricing is set (October 2026)
Hex Trust does not publish a schedule of crypto custody fees: custody is quoted per client, fiat ramping is described as all-inclusive and volume-based with no hidden spread or banking surcharge, and insurance cover, Travel Rule screening and Chainalysis KYT screening are included with custody wallets at no extra cost. Pricing facts are as published on hextrust.com on .
Risk warning. Not financial advice. Crypto is highly volatile and may drop in value significantly. You may lose the amounts you invest and your investments do not benefit from any form of financial protection.

Pricing facts as published on hextrust.com, accessed . Last reviewed .
The live site has no pricing page: its /fees and /pricing addresses both returned “page not found” on the access date. The price of institutional crypto custody is set in a proposal, and the sections below explain what goes into one.
What drives a custody quote
Custodians build institutional crypto custody fees from five inputs. What follows is general method, not Hex Trust figures: the ranges have to come from institutional sales. Rates are quoted in basis points, hundredths of one per cent: one basis point a year on US$1,000,000 is US$100.
Assets under custody
The usual base is an annual rate in basis points on the value of the assets held, billed monthly or quarterly. A schedule may be tiered, so that the rate falls as the balance grows, and may set a minimum fee. Ask which price source values the assets, and when.
Wallet tier mix
Hex Trust offers hot, warm and cold wallets, and Hex Safe states a two-hour service level for cold withdrawals and near-instant ones from warm wallets. Cold storage takes more manual steps, so a provider may price each tier, or each cold withdrawal, differently.
Networks and tokens
The live custody page names 34 networks. A network or token that the custodian has still to integrate may carry a one-off fee. When you ask for a quote, list every asset you hold with the network you hold it on.
Transaction volume and service levels
An account that moves assets daily costs more to run than one that holds them still. A proposal may include a number of transfers and charge for the rest, and may pass network fees through at cost or add a margin. Reporting frequency and support hours are priced terms too.
Add-on services
OTC execution, fiat ramping, staking and lending are separate services with their own terms, set out below. Insurance cover and compliance screening are not add-ons at Hex Trust: both are stated as included with custody wallets.
Together, the drivers give a custody quote this structure. It is a worked example without figures, because Hex Trust publishes none: read each line off your proposal.
| Line | How it is worked out | Hex Trust figure |
|---|---|---|
| Custody fee | Average assets under custody × annual rate in basis points ÷ 10,000 | Not published |
| Minimum fee | Replaces the line above when it is the higher of the two | Not published |
| Onboarding | One-off, in the first year only | Not published |
| Withdrawals | Withdrawals beyond any included number × fee per withdrawal | Not published |
| Network fees | Paid to the network for each transfer: passed through at cost, or with a margin | Not published |
| Insurance cover | Included with custody wallets | No additional cost |
| Travel Rule and Chainalysis KYT screening | Included with custody wallets | No extra cost |
| First-year total: the sum of the lines above | From your proposal | |

What is included at no extra cost
The live wallets page states two items as included with custody wallets: insurance cover and compliance screening.
- Insurance cover
- No additional cost
- Travel Rule screening
- No extra cost
- Chainalysis KYT screening
- No extra cost
- Insurance limit, all clients together
- US$25,000,000
From the live wallets and insurance framework pages, accessed .
Included does not mean unlimited. The insurance framework gives a “maximum coverage of US$25,000,000 across all clients”: one limit shared by every client, for two named events. The security page sets out the insurance limit and scope. The live custody page shows “$25M+” in its text and “$50M+” in its structured data, so ask for the limit, the insurer and the policy period in writing.
Screening covers the Travel Rule, under which the providers at each end of a transfer exchange details of the sender and the recipient, and KYT (know your transaction) checks of a transfer against on-chain risk indicators. A custody quote should therefore carry no screening charge per transfer: ask the proposal to say so.
OTC and fiat ramping pricing
There is no published crypto OTC desk fee: the desk prices each request by quote, and the live site shows no spread or commission schedule. Fiat ramping pricing is described in one sentence, as “all-inclusive and volume-based with no hidden spread or banking surcharge”.
- All-inclusive The quoted price should be the price you settle at. The live site does not say how network fees, or charges taken by a receiving or intermediary bank, are treated.
- Volume-based The price depends on size, and the tiers are not published. Tell the desk your expected monthly volume, not only the size of the first trade.
- Currencies and settlement USD, AED, SGD, HKD, CNY and EUR are named, “and more”. Settlement is typically T+0 to T+2 business days.
Worked example: settlement timing and the all-in check
Timing. A trade confirmed on a Monday settles, inside the typical window, between that Monday (T+0) and the Wednesday (T+2), if all three are business days. “Typically” is a usual range, not a commitment, so agree the settlement date with the quote.
All-in check. Amount sent × quoted rate = amount you should receive. If less arrives, a charge was taken that the quote did not show: ask whether it arose at a bank or on the network.
Eligibility, execution and the settlement steps are in the service file for the crypto OTC desk and fiat ramping.
Staking and lending terms
Institutional staking fees are not published, and lending terms are agreed with each client.
- Staking commission No commission or minimum stake is published. A commission is commonly a share of the rewards: ask for the share, what it is calculated on and whether the custody fee still applies to staked assets.
- Rewards Paid by the network, variable and not guaranteed. The live staking page says that staked assets remain in custody.
- Network rules On Ethereum a validator needs at least 32 ETH, and provable misbehaviour leads to slashing, which destroys part of the stake, according to the staking pages of ethereum.org (checked 11 October 2026). Ask who bears a slashing loss.
- Lending Loans are made against collateral held in Hex Trust custody, with the loan-to-value ratio, rate and term agreed per client. The live lending page says that collateral is not liquidated automatically, so ask what happens when its value falls.
Token wrapping, wXRP and the lending or staking of digital payment tokens appear on the global Hex Trust website. They are not offered in Singapore or Dubai, and are not regulated by MAS or under VARA. The service file sets out the institutional staking terms and risks in full.
How to compare custody quotes
Two quotes are comparable only when they are worked out on the same base. Line these items up for each provider before you compare totals: crypto custody pricing with a lower headline rate can cost more once the other lines are added.
- Fee base A rate on assets under custody, a fixed fee or both; how the assets are valued; whether the rate is tiered.
- Minimums Any minimum fee or balance, and the balance at which it stops applying.
- Withdrawal fees The charge per withdrawal by wallet tier, and the number included.
- Network fees Passed through at cost, marked up or absorbed.
- Insurance scope The limit, whether clients share it, the events covered and the exclusions.
- Exit fees The cost of moving assets out, the notice period and any charge for leaving early.
- Contracting entity The company that signs and invoices. Check the licensed entity that will invoice you against the regulator's register.
Price is one part of a custodian review. The due diligence checklist, including commercial terms, covers the rest, and further guides are under insights for custody buyers.
Methodology and review cadence
What this page covers
This page covers the pricing statements on the public pages of hextrust.com for six service lines, as read on . Client proposals, negotiated terms and Aura, the wealth platform on a separate host, are outside it. So are network fees and bank charges, because none is published. The notes on how custodians price a mandate are general method. The page is for information only and is not investment advice.
How often it is checked
The published statements are checked against the live site at least every 30 days, and the page has an editorial review at least every 90 days. Its date changes only when the content changes. It was drafted by the Hex Trust Research Team and goes to the Head of Compliance for review before publication, under the editorial policy.

Pricing FAQ
Does Hex Trust publish custody fees?
No. Hex Trust publishes no custody fee schedule and no basis-point range, and its website had no pricing page on 6 October 2026. Custody is quoted for each client. For figures, write to [email protected] with your jurisdiction, the assets and networks you hold and the balance you expect.
Is there a minimum balance?
Not published. The live site states no minimum balance and no minimum fee for custody. Treat a minimum as a term of the proposal: ask institutional sales whether one applies to your account, and from what balance the percentage fee takes over.
Is insurance charged separately?
No, according to the live wallets page, which describes insurance cover as included at no additional cost. The published limit is US$25,000,000 across all clients, for two named events, so it is not cover for the full value of every account. Ask whether further cover can be arranged, and at what cost.
Are network fees included?
The live site does not say. No page states whether custody pricing includes the fees paid to a network for each transfer or passes them on. Fiat ramping is described as all-inclusive, but that sentence names spread and banking surcharge, not network fees. Ask for the treatment in writing.
How are OTC trades priced?
By quote. You ask the desk for a price on a stated pair and amount, and the quote you confirm is the price of the trade. No spread or commission schedule is published. Fiat ramping is described as volume-based. Ask for the all-in price and the settlement date before you confirm.
Do fees differ by entity or jurisdiction?
The live site does not say whether prices differ, but the services on offer do. In Dubai, custody is provided by Hex Trust MENA FZE (VARA licence VL/23/08/002) and OTC execution by HT Markets MENA FZE (VL/23/08/003). In Singapore, both are provided by Hex Technologies Pte. Ltd. Read about the Hex Trust entities before you compare quotes.
The FAQ page has more answers on fees, custody, settlement and licences.
Ask for the figures in writing
Send institutional sales your jurisdiction, the assets and networks you hold, the balance you expect and how often you move assets. Ask for every line of the worked example, and for the name of the company that will invoice you.
