Short answers to the questions institutions ask most about Hex Trust: which entities are licensed and by whom, how custody and insurance work, who can use the OTC desk, where staking is offered, and how fees are set.

Risk warning. Not financial advice. Crypto is highly volatile and may drop in value significantly. You may lose the amounts you invest and your investments do not benefit from any form of financial protection.

HT-01 Licences

Licences and regulation

A licence belongs to one company, not to the group, so the answer depends on which Hex Trust company serves you. The quickest way to check that a company is legitimate is to look it up on its regulator's own register: the legal page gives the licence numbers and register links for each one, and about Hex Trust explains how the companies fit together.

Is Hex Trust regulated?

Yes, company by company. Hex Trust MENA FZE is licensed by VARA in Dubai for Custody Services (VL/23/08/002), and HT Markets MENA FZE is licensed by VARA for Broker-Dealer Services (VL/23/08/003). Hex Technologies Pte. Ltd. is licensed by MAS in Singapore as a Major Payment Institution (PS20200664). In Hong Kong the status is a TCSP licence (AML), not an SFC-licensed platform.

What are Hex Trust's licence numbers?

Two VARA licence numbers in Dubai and one MAS number in Singapore. Hex Trust MENA FZE holds VL/23/08/002 for Custody Services, issued on 15 November 2023 (its VARA register entry). HT Markets MENA FZE holds VL/23/08/003 for Broker-Dealer Services, issued on 31 May 2024 (VARA entry for HT Markets). Both entries showed the status Active on 11 October 2026. Hex Technologies Pte. Ltd. (UEN 201924026H) holds MAS licence PS20200664 (MAS directory entry). No Hong Kong number is published.

Is Hex Trust licensed by the SFC in Hong Kong?

No. Hex Trust does not claim an SFC licence. Its live trust centre lists two things for Hong Kong: a trust company registration and a Trust or Company Service Provider (TCSP) licence, printed without a number or the name of the company that holds them. In plain terms: TCSP licence (AML), not an SFC-licensed platform. Once the company is confirmed, it can be looked up in the TCSP register of the Companies Registry.

Which services are not offered in Singapore or Dubai?

Wealth management (Aura), token wrapping, wXRP, and digital payment token (DPT) lending or staking. The live Singapore page says these services, which appear on the global Hex Trust website, “are not offered in Singapore and are not regulated by MAS”. The live Dubai page says the same list is “not offered in Dubai” and is “not regulated under VARA”. Hex Technologies Pte. Ltd. also does not serve retail consumers in Singapore.

HT-02 Custody and security

Custody and security

These answers quote the live site and say where it stops. The service itself is described under institutional crypto custody; assurance reports, key management and policy terms are under security and insurance details.

How does Hex Trust store private keys?

In hardware security modules (HSMs) validated to FIPS 140-3 Level 3; the live trust centre names the vendor as Securosys Primus. According to the live storage page, keys are created with a true random generator and stay wrapped, and encrypted keys are stored in multiple vaults in different locations. The storage options named “Safe Plus” and “Safe Vaults” operate air-gapped, which means without a network connection.

Are client assets segregated?

Yes, according to the live custody page, which says client assets are “legally and technologically segregated through on-chain account structures” and describes an “Insolvency-Remote Legal Structure”. The legal basis of that structure is not set out on the live site, so ask for the custody terms and a legal opinion for the company that would hold your assets before you rely on it.

What does the insurance cover?

Two named events, up to one limit shared by all clients. The live insurance framework gives a “maximum coverage of US$25,000,000 across all clients”, not an amount per client. It covers dishonest or fraudulent acts or omissions of the custodian, and physical loss of or damage to private keys from natural disaster or violent acts. Incidents are reported to [email protected] within 24 hours, and the insurer pays within 30 business days of claim approval.

Which assurance reports does Hex Trust have?

SOC 2 Type II and SOC 1 Type I and Type II reports, according to the live trust centre. The SOC 2 Type II examination was completed in December 2023 by AssuranceLab; the SOC 1 Type I and Type II examinations were completed in February 2023 by Deloitte. The same page lists ongoing penetration testing by Deloitte. Ask for the latest report and the period it covers under a non-disclosure agreement.

HT-03 OTC and fiat

OTC trading and fiat

Who can trade depends on the company that would be your counterparty. Order flow, settlement and currencies are described on the crypto OTC desk page.

Who can use the OTC desk?

Institutions and qualified investors, not retail clients: the exact test depends on the company that serves you. In Dubai, HT Markets MENA FZE (VL/23/08/003) may serve Institutional Investors and Qualified Investors. In Singapore, OTC execution is available only to verified Accredited and Institutional Investors, as defined in section 4A of the Securities and Futures Act. The live markets page says trading is “subject to local eligibility requirements”.

How fast do trades settle?

Typically within T+0 to T+2 business days, which means from the trade date to two business days after it. The figure comes from the live markets page and is a typical range, not a commitment for every trade. The desk works around the clock and takes orders through an institutional chat on Telegram or Signal, so agree the settlement date and the payment route when you accept a quote.

Which fiat currencies are supported?

USD, AED, SGD, HKD, CNY and EUR: these six are named on the live fiat ramping page, which adds “and more” without listing the others. The same page describes pricing as “all-inclusive and volume-based with no hidden spread or banking surcharge”. In Dubai, client money for on-ramp and off-ramp is held in a Client Money Account with Zand Bank under the VARA Client Money Rules.

HT-04 Staking

Staking

Staking is described on the global site and is not offered by every Hex Trust company. Options and risks are set out on the institutional staking page, and the wider risks of digital assets in the risk disclosure.

Are staking rewards guaranteed?

No. Staking rewards are not guaranteed: each network sets them, and they change over time. The live staking page reports “no slashing events across all protocols since inception and 99.9%+ uptime”. That is a record of the past, read on 6 October 2026, and not a promise about the future. Staked assets remain in custody, can be subject to lock-up periods and can fall in value.

Where is staking available?

Not in Singapore and not in Dubai. The live regional pages list “DPT lending or staking” among the services that “are not offered in Singapore and are not regulated by MAS” and “are not offered in Dubai and are not regulated under VARA”. The pages read for this file do not name the Hex Trust company that provides staking or the markets it serves, so ask institutional sales which company would contract with you.

What is slashing?

Slashing is a penalty that a proof-of-stake network applies to a validator that provably breaks its rules. On Ethereum, according to the staking pages of ethereum.org, part of the validator's stake is destroyed and the validator is “forcibly removed from the network”. The loss falls on staked assets, so ask a staking provider in writing who bears it and whether any indemnity applies.

HT-05 Fees

Fees

Hex Trust quotes each client separately, so there is no price list to read. What goes into a quote, and what to ask for, is covered in pricing explained.

Does Hex Trust publish fees?

No. Hex Trust publishes no fee schedule and no basis-point range: the addresses /fees and /pricing on the live site returned a 404 (not found) response on 6 October 2026. Custody, OTC execution and staking are quoted for each client, and fiat ramping pricing is described only in words, as all-inclusive and volume-based, with no rate given. Ask for the fee basis, any minimum and any onboarding fee in writing.

What is included at no extra cost?

Insurance cover and transaction screening, for custody wallets. The live wallets page states “Comprehensive insurance coverage, at no additional cost” and “Travel rule and Chainalysis KYT fully integrated, at no extra cost”. Chainalysis KYT is a tool that screens transactions, and the Travel Rule requires providers to exchange sender and recipient details. Check your proposal to see whether both also apply to OTC execution and staking.

HT-06 Accounts

Accounts and onboarding

New accounts are opened through institutional sales. Offices, desks and the route for your organisation are on the page where you can contact Hex Trust.

How do I open an account?

E-mail [email protected]. The live login page says “No account yet? Please contact [email protected]”, so accounts are opened through institutional sales. Say where your organisation is incorporated and which services you need: that decides which Hex Trust company would contract with you and which client class you must meet. Ask for the document list and the expected onboarding time for that company.

Where do existing clients log in?

At hexsafe.hextrust.com, the address of the Hex Safe client platform; the “Client login” link at the top of every page of this site goes there. Check the address bar before you enter credentials: hexsafe.hextrust.com is on the company's list of official addresses. For help with an existing account, write to [email protected] or open the help centre at help.hextrust.com.

Which domains are official?

Five addresses are on the company's own list: hextrust.com, www.hextrust.com, hexsafe.io, hexsafe.hextrust.com and kyc.hexcustody.com. The list comes from the security notice on the live site, read on 6 October 2026. Treat a link to any domain outside this list as suspect: do not enter credentials there, and report it to [email protected].

HT-07 Support

Support and complaints

Hex Trust publishes contact addresses by purpose and by company. The steps and time limits for each company are set out in the complaints procedure.

How do I contact support?

By e-mail, at the address for your purpose: [email protected] for new accounts, [email protected] for existing accounts, and [email protected] for phishing or security incidents. Existing clients can also use the help centre at help.hextrust.com. No general support telephone line is published. The number +971 4 718 3127 appears on the disclaimer pages of the two Dubai companies as a channel for whistleblowing reports, not for account support.

How do I make a complaint?

Write to the company that serves you. For Hex Trust MENA FZE and HT Markets MENA FZE in Dubai, e-mail [email protected]; for Hex Technologies Pte. Ltd. in Singapore, e-mail [email protected]. Each Dubai company commits to acknowledge a complaint within one week and aims to resolve it within four weeks, or within eight weeks of the complaint date in extraordinary circumstances.

Ask about your own case

If your question is not answered here, tell institutional sales where your organisation is incorporated and which service you are asking about. Ask which Hex Trust company would contract with you, and under which licence.
